Sorry?

We are sorry,
That we voted a good man into office,
and gave him a horrible mess to clean up.

We are sorry,
we were not strong enough to say “NO” to the previous administration.

We are sorry,
we are lazy and couldn’t resist deals and money that was too good to be true.

We are sorry,
we haven’t given up our SUVs, cellphones, HDTVs, cable and our waste and greed.

We are sorry,
but perhaps we will change now…perhaps.

The Black Irish Tenor

Tomorrow will be the day we inaugurate our first Black president. I am excited, but I must refrain from basking in the post-coital glow that would allow Barack Obama to roll over, ignore me, and disappear without leaving a note, or calling the next day.

The past 8 years have been like watching the “The Defecating Elephants and Poo-Flinging Monkey” act, in the 3-ring circus, known as “Government”, completely mess up the stage. The next act must clean up the stage and perform at the same time. Can you imagine a Black Irish Tenor trying to sing and shovel elephant dung at the same time?

I hope that he will keep his promises and fix this country, although I expect it will be an uphill battle the whole way.

There are those fearful morons who have already threatened his life, those that will disagree with him, just to disagree (often referred to as “Bi-Partisan politics”), and there are those that believe his shit doesn’t stink. This last group is probably the most damaging.

I hope we do not fall victim to our Slothfulness (laziness) when it comes to holding our elected officials to the promises they have made and the fact that it is the people who put them there; they MUST act in the best interests of the people, or we should remove them.

Too bad we did not do that with Dubya.

Well, here is to the next 4 years ( maybe 8 ) and hope that they get better and that America turns the corner and never goes back.

Wasted Vote?

Do you get a prize for voting for the candidate you think will win? Is voting for the “Lesser of 2 Evils” a good thing? NO!

Are you going to vote the party line? This is just like handing your ballot to that party and saying “You can decide who I should vote for.”

Vote for the candidate(s) that you want to win because they represent your values.

While I don’t agree with this candidate on a lot of issues, I do agree that there is no such thing as a wasted vote. Read Chuck Baldwin’s full write up “A Wasted Vote”.

There are more than 2 candidates, see the major ones here (You can also search for your state’s ballot there). See ALL of the candidates here.

So, get out and vote!
